Ex. 12:2 God's timing

Here is where the months for each year will begin.  without this things could not be timed  perfectly by God.  The way it turns out so far off into the future shows why God could give the early churches the book of revelations.  Even now the book is still prophesy the future.

v.11  this will be the ordinance of the passover being kept in perfect timing.  Why this was done was so the Exodus would shadow the same as a deliverance from sin and bondage to the world.
1Cor. 5:7  we see this picture as Christ our passover---he was the Lamb of God slain for us on the alter of the cross.

v.17 also there is the unleavened  bread  In the ceremonial passover which is held even now  we see the matza bread  .  This act was where the son would look for the hidden matza bread Dad hides.  There were 3 pieces this was the 2nd one.  it was in a folded napkin.  When Jesus rose from the dead he took the napkin which covered his face and folded it and laid it neatly on the place.  Jesus in Jn. 6 is called the bread of life.  unleavened bread represents truth.  Jesus says beware of the leavened bread of rhe Pharisees.

12:46  Not a bone of the lamb shall be broken.  This was done during pass over.
Jn. 19:36  not a bone in Jesus body was broken.   He is the Lamb.
Ps. 34:20   David says he keeps all his bones not one of them is broken.   Jesus had already given up the Ghost which was a miracle in itself.
Col. 2:14-17  read these and see that all these things as ordinances were to lead to Christ not have to do them anymore the way they did.  Now we take the bread and cup.

to make clear  Israel's deliverance from Egypt pictures our deliverance from sin and the world.  All these things hid from Israel till after the cross.  That is why the O.T. is so hard to understand.  It is for the Holy Spirit to reveal.

Ex. 11:7 2 People that God views.

God puts a difference between Egyptians (world) and his people. Ex. 11:7
Matt. 15:24  I am not sent but to the lost sheep of Israel.
If the Hebrews put blood on the doorposts they were safe.
The Jews who rejected Jesus the Messiah made the gospel turn to the Gentiles also.
Heb. 13:20  now the blood of the everlasting covenant is for all believers. This is peace with God.
1Thess. 5:9  we are not appointed to wrath but instead salvation.
Rev. 12:6 shows a place of protection for the woman which is the church which is left behind  but put in a safe place in the wilderness.  God protects and keeps his people from wrath and judgment in the tribulation.  These are those who are not ready or get born again in that time.

Ex. 10:22 thick darkness

in Ex. 10:22  God caused a thick darkness to come over Egypt for 3 days.  What is amazing is all the Israel had light.  That would show there was no need for a eclipse. Also there would be no light for God's people. This will help us to see about the cross.   There was no eclipse only a supernatural happening.

Matt. 27:45  from the 6th hour to the 9th  it was a thick darkness.  This dark is pictured again in
Rev. 16:10----v.9   They are like Pharaoh they won't repent.  The darkness here is one of the judgments of the tribulation.  the beast is a good picture of Pharaoh, sitting on his throne hardened against God.  Only a picture though. it is really more like all of the people who rebel in Egypt.  Today Egypt is historically know as one of the lowest nations on earth.  Even the leaders over it have been from foreign nations, esp. Arabs.  All we are saying here is the bible not my opinions.  see---Ezek. 30:12, and   29:15.

Ex. 9:34 carry us to safety.

All these things are happening to Pharaoh and he is filled with pride.
None of the plagues that are falling on the Egyptians, fall on Israel.  they are safe in Goshen.
We see in the past when Noah and his family, who were righteous, were preserved from the wrath of the flood God sent.
In Rev. 12: we see that the people of God are ressurected and there is a woman, symbol of those not ready were still preserved and led in the wilderness.  They will be safe there.  reading further we see that those the woman led to Jesus were called the remnant of her seed.  The woman church was still sharing the gospel and produced a seed of believers.
The woman will be protected from the tribulation wrath somehow.
One of the reasons why Jesus is called the rock is because he is a place of refuge.
Heb. 8:16  the last part shows we have fled for refuge in Jesus and we have his hope.

Men build places of refuge. One example is Jericho in the book of Joshua.  When Israel took that city it was all the Lord's doing.  Rahab and her family were preserved and taken out first to protect them.  They believed in Israel's God.  They were assured of  God's protection.  Through praising God the seeming walls of trouble fall.  Jesus came and removed the wall of sin that blocked us from fellowship with God.  This peace with God is our victory.

Ex. 8:13 a spoken word.

Ex. 8:13  God honors a man just like he does his son.  God was moved to do as Moses asked.  He calls it the words that he spoke.  We should remember that Moses will be like God to Pharaoh  and Aaron will be his prophet.
Matt. 8:8  The Cent. says to Jesus speak the word only and it will happen.
Mk. 11:23-24  you shall have what you say.  speak to the mountain it will be moved.
In 1 Samuel we have the story of Hannah  she heard the priest who was concerned about her desire to have a son say she will have one.  She was excited because she heard his words and believed them.
well we have a great high priest who is in the heavens.  He has given us promise of all answers to our prayers.
Heb. 9:11  our high priest.
Jn. 14:13  ask in my name I will do.  read this.
Matt. 7:7 ask and it shall be given you.
