Gen. ch.2 stones

while studying this chapter,  reference to Ex. 31:17 arose.  God had finished his creative work and then he rested and was refreshed.  In the same chap.  Moses receives the tablets with words written on them by God himself.  When you see this and compare it with a couple other passages a tremendous picture arises.

In Acts ch. 3:19  we have the refreshing that comes to man.  The idea here is that through Jesus and his restoring work, souls will come to repentance and salvation.  The kingdom work will also be restoring and reviving.  revive is same as refreshing.  God has spoken through the prophets that this --our time and on would come.

In  1Pet. 2:5  Peter uses the analogy of the saints as being called lively stones.  Add to that  2Cor. 3:2  Paul sees the saints as epistles that are read of all men.  those two put together equal  stones with words written on them.  1. refers to building a spiritual house--not a entertainment center.2.  the other that when people look at you they see the bible through your actions. It's like they read you.

When you add that we are a new creation in Christ Jesus.  This refreshing comes to God and man because he sees the good that he is creating in us. His aim as the 2nd Adam  will culminate in the millenium reign on earth. Garden like situation where there is peace for a 1,000 years.  These living stones will be his faithful church. They will be in the millenial kingdom with him.  His law is written on their hearts  Rom. 2:15
This laws is of the Spirit, Rom. 8:2   God will be refreshed again when he sees the fulfillment of his plans accomplished.  We can hasten this by faithfulness.
