So many voices in our world and we never believe everyone unless we are gullible. Some will say the Lord told them something. In Matt. 24:24 Jesus warned that deceivers would come and if possible deceive the very elect ( true believers). The elect will hear God's voice and be protected. Big word for our day---scammers. money is a real problem in our time. People in high ranking positions will sell us for a buck. Well a warning is a love thing Jesus highly promotes as we see in Matt. 24.
Jesus is coming for a church without spot wrinkle or blemish, part of the reason is we stay under his covenant of holy blood. The other is we strive against sin.
There is much to cover about hearing God, but here are some big helps by experience. 1. priority we must walk in light and not darkness. God gave us his words to accomplish that. The Holy Spirit convicts us about sin and also shows us when sin lies at the door.
2. If you start reading a bible subject, and wait on the Lord, he will do many things. Two I find helpful. First apply that which you are reading, and wherever you are reading God is focus on that to show something there. Second he will lead you to another place to read for a short or long time to reveal something. Always be discerning during that time to prevent the devil leading you into error.
I do not exaggerate . several years on a daily basis God shows me many marvelous things. Look at my last Job post with Eliphaz. God has given me the gift of encouragement. Can only share where he leads though. Have to protect my pearls. God bless, he loves to tell things to his bride.
